The village offers a wide range of shopping facilities, and medical care is excellent (including at the Dr Schindlbeck Clinic). There is a choice of various nurseries and schools. Secondary schools are available in Starnberg, Gilching and Tutzing. A decision has been taken to build a grammar school in Herrsching, which is expected to open in 2024. A school bus runs to the renowned Munich International School in Starnberg. Starnberg also offers upmarket shopping, excellent restaurants and a cosmopolitan atmosphere.
Sailing, tennis, horse riding and many other sports: Herrsching offers first-class leisure and recreational facilities, a lido and swimming spots by the lake. The famous Andechs Monastery, with its beer garden, is just a short walk away. The S-Bahn station is just a few minutes’ cycle ride away; the S8 runs every 20 minutes and provides a fast, convenient direct link to Munich city centre.
