The independent municipality of Bichl belongs to the Upper Bavarian district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen in the idyllic Isar Valley and is located around 60 kilometers south of Munich. Embedded in meadows and forests, the village combines a friendly village character with a fine Bavarian way of life. Shopping facilities in the village include a traditional bakery with a café and a long-established butcher; a well-stocked supermarket is located in Benediktbeuern. There is a local kindergarten, a primary and secondary school in Benediktbeuern and grammar schools in Penzberg and Bad Tölz.
