This dreamlike, completely renovated property is designed in typical Menorcan style, consisting of a main house, the so-called Manor House, and four other buildings spread across the property, combining tradition, typical local elements and modern living comfort. During the renovation in 2021, the focus was placed on sustainability with a completely self-sufficient energy and water supply, creating a unique ensemble of tradition, closeness to nature and a forward-looking way of living.
Built in Mares stone, the main house comprises a spacious entrance area on the first floor, a living/dining area with terrace access, a fully equipped kitchen, guest toilet and a bedroom with terrace and en suite bathroom. On the second floor there are three double bedrooms each with en suite bathrooms: a suite with its own living area, the master bedroom with a private lounge and its own terrace, and the third bedroom also with a terrace and views over the countryside. On the second floor, converted into a maisonette, there is a further suite with sleeping area, bathroom, terrace and private lounge area. Adjacent to the Manor House is Casa Payés with three double bedrooms, each with en suite bathroom and a further bedroom with en suite bathroom and private terrace. Casa Payés also has a living/dining area with kitchen and guest toilet.
Casa Olivos, a traditional Menorcan stone house in the olive grove of the estate, has a suite consisting of a bedroom, bathroom en suite and private lounge with terrace, as well as a further bedroom, also with bathroom en suite and terrace. Casa Era is a romantic hideaway away from the other buildings with a view of the natural surroundings. It contains a bedroom with bathroom and private terrace. Casa Mares - named after the natural stone quarried on Menorca - is the meeting place for everyone with its pool and large sun terrace. In addition to space for large tables for family and friends and a large, fully equipped kitchen, this building also has an independent, disabled-friendly suite with its own living and sleeping area with en suite bathroom.
Finca Rafal Rubi is surrounded by over 52,000 m² of land and is ideal as a private residence or as an agrotourism-style rental property. With a swimming pool, a vegetable garden, several terraces and other oases of relaxation, it is architecturally traditionally integrated into the natural surroundings and offers plenty of space for large families and guests.
Rafal Rubi is located near the town of Alaior, just 20 minutes from the sea and 15 minutes from the airport and the capital Mahon. Alaior is a popular destination for lovers of culture and culinary delights. The Esglesia de Santa Eularia forms the center of the pretty little town with its winding alleyways in the interior of the island. Alaior is located in the middle east of the island and is Menorca's third largest town. In the town you will find all the shops for your daily needs, as well as numerous restaurants.
The image of the island of Menorca is characterized above all by peaceful tranquillity: many fields lined with stone walls, whitewashed farms with an old cheese-making tradition, idyllic villages and picturesque fishing villages. Overall, the island is very green and wooded and there is a lot of agriculture. The original north is rocky and characterized by rugged, jagged, sometimes fjord-like coasts, while the south is gentler, the coast is less rugged and has several beaches suitable for tourism. As a result of the late development of tourism, Menorca was largely saved from large hotel buildings and urban sprawl. In 1993, the island was declared a biosphere reserve. Today, almost half of the island is a protected landscape and nature reserve. Many undeveloped beaches and landscapes have therefore been preserved.
Menorca is a destination for those interested in nature and culture as well as for bathing enthusiasts. The little sister of the well-known Balearic island of Mallorca offers a Caribbean-like sea with sandy beaches alternating with rocky coastlines, as well as numerous water sports activities for hikers, bikers and golfers.
